While we're playing variations on a theme here, there are 4 new
properties in 2.3 that make doing this kind of thing much easier:
formattedLeft, formattedTop, formattedWidth, and formattedHeight.  You
can use them to determine the pixel location and extents of a chunk of
text:
set the scroll of field 1 to the formattedTop of char 88 of field 1\
   - the top of field 1
