<< How about grouping all items on each cd (with a script of course) and then
put in the stack script:

on openCard
  resizeStack
end openCard

on resizeStack
set the right of group 1 of current cd to the width of this stack
end resizeStack >>

I don't think the above will work either. Let me illustrate it this way:

Suppose you had a stack with several cards with the American flag on each,
except the blue square with the stars is a background that is on each card.
The red and white stripes , however, are ungrouped, independent objects. Now
suppose I resize the stack to twice its size and want the flag to be along
the right edge of the card. Your suggestion would work fine for the first
card. I could group everything and move the group to the right edge of the
card. However, since the blue square with the stars is a background that
appears on each card, when I go to the second card, the blue square has
already been moved and is no longer in the proper position in the flag.
Thus, if I group all the objects on that card and move them, I am left with
the stripes now moved but with the blue square out of place relative to the
stripes. In fact, I have now moved it out of place on the first card as
well. If I had no backgrounds on any of the cards, your suggestion would
work, but unfortunately thats not my situation.
