You may have an easier time of it if you render the text translations as
images, and make them act like text by showing them in scrolling groups
(if you want to mimic scrolling fields, that is).
I did a small Japanese multimedia project several years ago and used
images of the katakana? kanji? text strings that someone else had typed.
It eliminates cross-platform font issues, that's for *sure*!
