To port an Hypercard cgi application server linked to WebStar (2000 lines of scripts) to the same app able to run on both MacOS/WebStar, Windiws NT/IIS and Linux/Apache plateforms, i spend 100 hours to do the job but, today, the new cgi Metacard server runs realy fine on MacOS and Linux..., and with the possibility to be used on other plateforms like FreeBSD or SunOS. Are 100 hours to many time to get this result ? And of course there > is a considerable learning curve to learn MetaCard, > but if it's important to you to convert your stacks > to a PC format, it might be worth looking into. Not sure... If your are an experimented HyperTalk scripter, you will have to work about 2 to 4 weeks to learn how to get the best from Metatalk, no more, as i seen by my own experience. > > Jim Regards, Pierre Sahores This is the MetaCard mailing list.
