A new and improved version of ftp-q, an FTP client developed using
MetaCard 2.3's new socket support, is now available in the directory
ftp://ftp.metacard.com/MetaCard/ This new release supports "active
mode" transfers, which allow it to work with certain proxy and
firewall systems previous versions didn't support. And since it's all
scripted socket code, it's a good source of information on the
techniques involved. Please take it for a spin, especially if you
connect to the Internet through a proxy or firewall.
