Are you using the very latest build of MetaCard on NT?  To check this, run:

the version

then:

the buildnumber

in the message box.  It should be 2.3.1, build number 7.  GIF is a complex
format with many variations on how it is encoded dependant on what program
you use with what settings.  If you're using the latest engine and you have
a reproducable of the problem, please send a copy of the image to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
