For the same multi-platform mc web application server (a 2500 refs cyberstore)
installed on different configs, the same request (searching "History" books
avalaibles for sale - 581 refs betwin the 2500) is answered in :
0.56 second in using a Suse-Linux 7.0/Apache 1.3.12/PHP 3.0.15 (as Apache
module)/MC 2.31/PII 300/160Mo of Ram config;
0.68 second in using a MacOS 8.6/WebStar 3.02/AppleEvents/MC 2.31/PPC 266/128Mo
of Ram config;
1.54 second in using a WinNT4 WS/IIS4/PHP4 (php4isapi.dll - isapi mode)/MC
2.31/PII 300/160Mo of Ram config;
1.57 second in using a WinNT4 WS/Apache 1.3.14/PHP4 (php4.exe - cgi mode)/MC
2.31/PII 300/160Mo of Ram config.
NT is probably better handling static contents and little ASP's !!!
