I haven't tried it, but I bet it would. Commercial virus checkers just
read the file data, looking for key strings (for HyperCard viruses,
anyway, which are all text-based.). In HyperCard this can sometimes lead
to false positives because HyperCard doesn't always remove all unused
data from the stack after it has been deleted, depending on whether the
user has compacted the stack or not (does MetaCard?)
