Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to let all of you know how pleased I am with MetaCard as
a solution to my previously described project on processing big (150 MB
plus) data files. The project is not done, but I can say that MC's
performance is impressive. The stack is able to sift through 86,000
records, each one being about 200 lines for a total of over 3,000 pages,
extract pre-specified information, merge that information with a list of
7,000 match variables, and spit out the results in a compact text file
for use in spreadsheets. This takes all of 8 minutes on a 300 mHz iBook.
Can't complain about that!
