Jacqueline,
Have you tried setting the movie player to empty between movies? I
usually do this when closing a movie since usually dont know whats next,
either playing another movie or just moving on and want to have the qt
memory cleared out.
i do basically the same thing. i have 4 movie players in the hysterectomy
stack. one is just to play prompt narroations (audio qt files). and the
other three are to play movies that can be of three different sizes (have
to do this becausee changing movies size while screen is locked can cause
screen to become prematurely unlocked). but many of the screens have 4-6
movies that can be played on it all on the same player. again no qt
freezed reported out there so far (knock on wood) and i think most of the
folks installing things are just doing the generic installation and not
fiddling with qt or graphics drivers, but its a good thing to look at
since the biggest nightmare on pcs is the combination/perrmutation matrix
you have to do on hardware and hardware drivers. use to drive the testing
staff crazy trying to cover the most bases and come up with good trouble
shooting guides for the manuals and tech staff.
best of luck, i know the pain youre in! your situation is about the only
time ive ever questioned doing what im (were) doing...
cheers,
jeff
