Do you mean a "form" (= fields + button) in Metacard?

All HTML forms post their data to a server. A Metacard client (ie program on
the desktop) would do the same, but...
You can use the sockets feature of Metacard to send (not "post" protocol
"smtp" etc) an email direct (which would not "post" the data to a CGI
program on a server...
