This is a bit off topic but I know many MetaCard developers have to address this issue.

I have been using PC-Install to install my MC program from a CD.  I have been unhappy with it in that the documentation leaves a LOT to be desired, and some commands just don't seem to work.  Now, it bombs whenever I try to run Version 7.  I wanted to download the software and reinstall it but I find that the original company 20-20 Software is no longer there and Symantec now has the product and it is discontinued.  Thus I am looking for a new installer.
  
Any recommendations?
  
My requirements are:  1) priced around $300 or lower,  2) no royalty fees,  3) installs to Windows 95/98/NT and preferably 2000,  4) reliable and straightforward to use.
  
Any suggestions would be most helpful.

I too use Install Maker for Windows from the French company ClickTeam (http://www.clickteam.com) which costs $39 or $99 (depending on version) as a one-off fee and there are NO copy quantity-related costs!  This works very well for my purposes (installing MC apps from a CD-ROM).  It doesn't produce patches (they sell a separate Patch Maker product for this) but can support demo and registered versions with registration codes as well.  There is a light version, but I think the pro version is much better and relatively cheap considering.

ClickTeam also produce some Mac products and they are planning a version of Install Maker to the Mac as well which would be great as I'll then have a single tool for both platforms (and my dual-platform CDs!).
