I have seen this and have had hundreds reports from clients that have seen
this with apps I have made with MC. It happens only on the Mac. It affects
many different printer manufacturers too. I am not sure what the cause is,
but if you can live without color printing, you can get rid of it with by:
set printcolors to false.
What is weird is that the problem shows up randomly. Your prints may print
fine on one print out then the next you get the grey background. If you or
anyone finds a better solution than setting the printcolors property, I
would like to know too. Sometimes clients need to be able to print in
color.
