Hi all, as some of you may know, I operate a web hosting and site
design service and it generally keeps me busy 24/7. I maintain ties
with a former client and still do metacard stacks for them since they
don't tax my time all that much. That's what I have been doing for
over a year now.
Recently I have become very interested in running metacard over the
web. Having stacks call the necessary resources from a server is
shear genius (a plan Scott currently has listed in the to do items).
For myself, I see potential contracts because my current set of
clients require web savvy applications etc. So my partners and I
decided to run mchttps as a permanent service on our site and offer
it to anyone in the MetaCard community that decides to host with us
(http://www.amigo-3.com). If you happen to offer hosting services
and have over a hundred clients then you already know you can't
possibly give anything away for free :^(
So, if you need it we have it!
Now for my new problem. A short time ago I decided that what would
go really well with this mchttp service is a support site for mchttp
and future *web ready* features of MetaCard. This site would have
training, support, samples, press releases (for anyone on the list),
discussion forums (about web related issues only so as not to
distract people from this fantastic list) etc. Basically set up a
daily/weekly newsletter site for everyone to extend their knowledge.
Problem is I don't have the time to design and operate the site
alone. I'm looking for a group of people willing to take on various
areas of the site, or the whole thing (we can decide on a design
together and go from there). The site would be located at
http://www.mctools.org/ and the persons involved would have full
access to it.
The site can deal with anything about MetaCard, maybe become a
portal, but it's up to those on the list. I'm mostly interested in
mchttp but if you want to handle some other aspects then that's fine
too. It's simply too much work for me to do alone, yet I think it
would be too useful to all of us as a tool than to just give up.
