Hey gang -
I'm writing an article on the virtues of implementing distributed computing
via net-aware desktop apps as opposed to the browser. If I make the case
clearly enough, this will reflect well on MetaCard development.
I'm looking for two sets of examples:
1. Non-browser network apps that work. Two that come to mind are AOL (well,
at least it's famous if not attractive) and SETI@Home. I'm having a tough
time finding others, so if you know of any, or better yet have any, please
drop me a note.
2. Browser-based apps that don't work. Many of the groupware ASPs out there
are rather well implemented, so I'm having a tough time finding examples of
really bad ones -- but I'm sure they're out there. Any leads?
