Yes, I had an identical problem. Some QT audio files played flawlessly
on some PCs and other PCs couldn't play them at all, or stuttered or
truncated them while playing.
Turns out to be a bug in MC -- if you have a hidden player object as I
did, some machines will fail to play the files. The workaround for now
is to show the player object but move it off screen.
