If Metacard uses anything like Supercard for it's palette window generation on Mac then it Is not a "real" palette your seeing but a modified and generated metacard resource. These are not really located in the floating layer of the system in Supercard and probably neither in metacard. (Scott ?) It is indeed quite dangerous to change window attributes in ResEdit. May I suggest you open the window of-screen (loc -1000,-1000) set it to palette and then show it at the right loc ? How's holland these days ?
