First impressions:
- wrong tools stack?
When opening 2.4A2 a warning message is displayed: "tools stack version
(2.4A1) does not match engine version (2.4A2)"
- rotating images
Rotating an image once works, however with a slight distortion .
Rotating an image back the same amount - rotate image 1 by -30 - does
not restore the same angle, but only about 15 degrees.
Rotating an image continuously (as reported before)
"repeat with i = 1 to 360
rotate image 1 by 1
end repeat"
results in a progressively slower rotation up to i about 40, when the
rotation comes practically to a standstill. The image then is completely
distorted.
- importing text or images (as reported before)
When trying to import text into fields or images into the stack the
import dialogs do not display files until you type in an extension (like
*.txt or *.jpg).
Also, it is impossible to import images from a subdirectory if Metacard
itself is in another subdirectory - this problem has occurred before in
earlier releases.
- blend-ink
setting inks is no longer possibly in the property dialog, only via
script or msg.
Under Windows images show a blendlevel of about 50, but setting a
blendlevel is impossible.
Question: Will "blend ink" and "blendlevel" finally be properties of all
objects under Windows, too?
- QT effects: The readme contains the same information as in 2.4A1. Is
this really correct, that the four-character-codes are substitutes for
the effect names, and not the abbreviations for the parameters of those
special effects (with "zoomcenter", "horizontal repeat" etc.) that can
only be previewed in the effects dialog, but not yet implemented in
Metacard? (please, compare my last message "QT effects again").
