Sounds like there might be a version conflict between what was used 
to build your standalone and your current Metcard version.

I find that MC 2.3.2 plays certain  .avi files better on both Mac and 
Windows than the Quicktime equivalents.  They are purely visual, 
however - no sound, and were converted from FLC files , which may be 
the reason.

I am hearing some dubious reports of QT 5, so I am not risking moving 
up just yet.  Whatever you do, keep your QT 4 safe somewhere. Well, I 
have a QT installer that doesn't need the internet - useful if you 
want to beat a retreat!  Bit of a problem otherwise - is QT 4 still 
available from Apple?
