I get confused when people continue talking about MetaCard player
2.3.10. You all mean an unlicensed MetaCard of version 2.3.1, don't you?
The highest version so far of MetaCard 2.3.x is 2.3.2 to my knowledge...
(perhaps you mean something like 2.3.1.0 which would be a bit unorthodox
way to denote versions)
Anyhow, let me guess what's happening. You develop under Windows where
menubars are attached to the window rather than appearing in the top of
the screen as they do under MacOS. Then you move to MacOS where the
default location for a menubar is at the top of the screen, thus the
menubar disappears from your stack window and then MetaCard
automatically resizes the window. Now, if you activate "Edit Menus" in
the "Stack properties" the menubar will reappear in the stack window
(you then have two menubars, MetaCards menu at the top of the screen and
your stack menubar at the top of your stack window). That does not mean,
however, that the stack menubar will stay there. If you e.g. make a
standalone of your stack the menubar will be at the top of the screen
again. That I think is a good thing since a MacOS user will always look
for the menu at the top of the screen. Without making any claims to what
system behaviour is the best one should realise that Windows style
window behaviour is often very irritating for an experienced MacOS user
and vice versa. (I'm an experienced MacOS user and I sure get pretty
annoyed every time (which is pretty often) I have to work with Windows
and their bulky windows, and you don't have to look hard to find
experienced Windows users that get annoyed if they have to use a Mac)
I think this topic is very much related to your earlier thread. Didn't
the suggestions by Signe Marie Sanne work? If not, then perhaps you need
to explain in detail why it is a problem that your stack window is
resized. Perhaps you rely on some background image where the location of
details need to match the location of stack items?
