This perhaps is a little off topic, but I have built a useful gadget with a field that holds the .mt script a button that uploads the script to the site (HOST, USER and PASS are stored in fields on the same card) into the cgi bin and another button which runs the cgi with "get" and the results posted to another field on the same card...various card hold different cgi's for seven different sites... the only caveat is setting permissions. Fortunately I can FTP in and CHMOD the file to 755 and once that is done, happily, even if you overwrite the cgi script with a new iteration/revision...it keeps its permissions... So, now obviously the very efficient thing would be to upload the cgi... "build_lesson.cgi" and, while the socket is still open (an old script I got from Andu) set permissions to that file. What would be the commands to do that, from with the xtalk ftp script? ( if anyone thinks they could use such a gadget...email off list, it's not polished enough yet to post to contributors...)
