They have their own interface that allows development of apps just like Rev. It has been around for over 10 years. Rev came about just recently. They created their own user interface to the exact same engine that they license from MC. Revolution is built using the MetaCard engine. They are both compatible to a point. MetaCard is more sparse on its interface. I myself prefer the MC interface at this point because it is less in my face. Now when I first started using MC, I came over from SuperCard.
