Hi all,

Would some kind soul tell me why I am geting an error when trying
to build a
standalone using 2.72 mc? The ico files are good and I am using
the 2.72
Home stack. What else do I need to do?

Is this on windows?
Could you provide more info?
What was the error text, if any?

Yes, Klaus, Windows. The message is "C:/SEAs/metacard272/mc.exe is not a
MetaCard engine". Which it is.

sorry for getting back a bit late.

OK, here the instructions to make MC build correct standalones with the
new 2.7.x engine on windows.

I will also upload these instructions to the MC Yahoo group later this day.

To prepare the "Home" stack for use with engine 2.7.x please check
Ken's info: "Building MC 2.7.txt " in the files section of the Yahoo group.

Build MetaCard 2.7.x for windows:

1. Make a BACKUP of your old MC files!!!
Optional, but always a good idea :-)

2. Copy the application ".../Revolution Enterprise/2.7.x.../ Revolution.exe"
to your MetaCard folder.

3. Rename that file to "mc.exe"

4. Done, now you are ready to use MC 2.7.x on windows.

####################################################

Prepare the engine to build standalones (You have to use MC IDE version 2.7 for this!)

Starting with Rev 2.7.x there are two different engines are necessary for
a) editing and
b) building standalones, so these steps are essential.

1. Copy the file ".../Revolution Enterprise/2.7.x.../Runtime/Windows/ x86-32/Standalone"
to your MC folder (or wherever you want to).

HINT: This file "Standalone" does NOT have any suffix!

2. Rename that file to "mcStandalone.exe" (or any other meaningful name).

3. Point the standalone builder to this file "mcStandalone.exe" and build your new
MC 2.7.x standalones.
