After reading the discussion about "OT: lost everything, macbook and its HD broken. (Andre Garzia)" on the use-revolution list I had reverted to the somewhat neglected habit to make backups of essential stacks now and then.

This morning I found that a stack, which had worked alright last night, had lost all of its 6 substacks, one of them containing a very long script library. Happily, I had made a backup of that stack two days ago and was able to copy the newly added scripts to the backup stack.

I cannot remember having done anything unusual when working with the stack, the only thing that was deviating from my usual routine was that I accelerated the Windows shutting down process by cutting the power yesterday. At that point of time, however, Metacard (2.6.6) had already been safely closed.

Has anybody seen such vanishing substacks? What could be the possible cause of it? This is on Windows XP.
