Absolutely. Even if MetalWeb worked perfectly, I would still recomend
learning 
at least the basics.

Last time I looked, HTML was at version 4.01 (in transition to XHTML 1.0)
however as far as I am aware no Amiga browsers fully support 4.01 so 3.2 is
the one to go with for now. SHTML, DHTML etc are incorporated as part of
the 4.01 spec.

To change your paths you would have to deliberately retype them. I find
MetalWeb has the nasty habit of changing my paths whether I want them
changed or not.

I have also had a play with WebDesign1.3 and it was ok. A good way to learn
how the tags work.

 Incedentally MetalWeb does that as well (for some reason, it just wants to
add a few extra closings on ocassion).

Yep and its a serious pain in the !@#$. A lot of the time its easier to just
hand code rather than find and fix all the code errors MetalWeb makes.
