http://www.eyebeam.org/learning/learning.php?page=interns 3) Energy, technology, sustainability – curatorial research Eyebeam seeks an intern to spearhead a research project exploring work and projects in the area of environmental research, technology and sustainable energy solutions in response to work being undertaken by a range of artists and researchers currently at Eyebeam. This intern will collaborate with a working group comprised of Ben Engebreth (R&D Fellow), Jeff Fedderson (Artist in Residence), Preemptive media (Production lab commissioned artists) and Eyebeam staff. We feel that Eyebeam is uniquely positioned to engage the public regarding sustainable technologies. In addition to documenting research currently being undertaken at Eyebeam, we are keen to explore ways to give artists, technologists and the public hands on access to emerging tools, complimenting Eyebeam's mission to foster the creative uses of new technologies. We would also like to investigate possibilities to create energy onsite (though explorations of solar, wind, light collection, green roof and other sustainable energy collection) which we believe fits in with Eyebeam's "made here" ethos. This research may lead to a larger research project, exhibition or other public presentation outcome in 2007 and potentially to integrating these technologies into Eyebeam's infrastructure. Our proposition is that research in this area and integration of these technologies into Eyebeam's dense urban surroundings will present unique opportunities for innovation and leadership in the field.
