Thanks for the note, Ken. Glad you like the little Camel Donga. I hated
to part with it, but I had to sell a few specimens from my collection
earlier in the semester to help pay for school.
Interestingly enough, Dr. Berryman is an adjunct professor here at MTSU.
I actually took a class from him last semester. At the time, I had no
idea he had an unclassified meteorite and he had no idea that I was
interested in meteorites. He was actually referred to me by my advisor
when, during a casual conversation, he mentioned to her that he had
something that might be a meteorite.
I gave him a crash course on meteoritics, we cut the specimen, and I sent
off a chunk to UCLA to have it classified. Alan Rubin analyzed it and
gave it a classification of H5. And yes, Dr. Berryman gave me a small
piece to put in my collection =)
Again, thanks for the note, hopefully you will see the Palmersville
meteorite again in the next edition of the Meteoritical Bulletin.
