I did a search for "crater salida" and came to you message. For your
information I had visited this site northeast of Salida, Colorado,
southwest of South Park. This is not a meteor, but a volcanic crater.
There is volcanic tuff, light colored, surrounding this semi-circular
spot, very remannisant of a caldera, but much smaller. If you want more
information, I would be happy to answer any questions you have about the
site.
