Hi list, I heard that the big bang was started by a process called quantum tunneling. A really dense thing-a-ma-bob tunneled into existance and then expanded. Quantum tunneling is not just a theory, It has been proven in laboratories. An example is if you direct a particle at a barrier and the particle does not have enough energy to penitrate there is a small chance that it will suddenly appear on the other side of the barrier because the particles probability wave (remember the particle-wave duality of particles?) extends beond the barrier slightly. If I am wrong on this somebody please correct me.
