Hi Allen,
What I have done to demonstrate the formation of impact craters
is to take a low box and fill it with flour than cover the flour with
powdered cocoa. Then take different sized marbles and drop them into the
box from varying heights. This creates impact craters complete with a
lighter colored ejecta blanket over the darker surface.
