Hello everyone:
For what it is worth, my 18 gram end cut of Rose
City looks very similar to the ASU specimen, very dark matrix and loaded with
metal. I started to bid on one of these ebay Rose City pieces but the email I
received did not substantiate the provenance of the piece so I passed on
it.
The theory that there may be two distinct types of
material in the Rose City meteorite is plausible but I cannot think of one
single meteorite that has such contrasting matrix material.
