off, experience has shown time and again that the opinion of two
college
geologists means very little when it comes to
meteorite identification.

Sounds like a convenient excuse. The seller isn't getting it
cut open
because the interior would give it away as being terrestrial (not
that
the exterior doesn't do that already).
