I'm new to the whole meteorite collecting field, and came across a piece of
Kofelsite on ebay. Can any one tell me if this material is legitimate?

I found the site you are talking about on Ebay.
Meteorite Impactite from Austria - KOFELSITE!
Kofelsite is NOT a meteorite, it is an impactite, meaning it was created by the impact of a meteorite. And there are many kinds of impactites, from many sources.
This one is from Austria. I am not familiar with it but maybe one of our Austrian members (Christian????) will be able to tell us more about it.
