Hi Tim and list,

That's what they call the Libyan truck.

Receipe:
Take a 6X6 Man of Mercedes 35 tons lorry.
Load it with 70 tons of goods, including dattes, salt bars and misc. Be very
carfully to organize a large plateform on top of your truck.
Say you have some room left for passengers.
Register 50 to 80 people, including families with babies, goats, sheep, (
sorry no camel).
Let them make their nest. Charcoal cookers, wood stock, drying meat and
hanging water jerricans.
Wait for the last tea on land to be appreciated and commented.
Climb on top, start boiling water, poor it on green tea leaves and sugar,
poor the tea in these specific small glasses. Sip it noisely.
Here we are ready to go across.
Every half an hour, make a new tea.
If you try this travelling way once and you will choose another way across
Sahara.

If some list members are interested, I can organize such a trip provide, but
for the time table you may have to keep some free weeks. I am desperate with
the never respected schedules.

Best day.
