Dear List members,
This coming Wednesday, October 9, 2002 marks the tenth anniversary of one of the best known and best documented meteorite events in history: the impact of a 12.3 kg stone meteorite into a parked car in the town of Peekskill, New York. During the past ten years, the Peekskill Meteorite Car has travelled almost as far as the meteorite that hit it, having been displayed in Japan, France, Switzerland, Germany, the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, and at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. R.A. Langheinrich Meteorites are the owners of the actual car, as well as a substantial part of the meteorite itself. On our website we have a special collection of photos of the Peekskill Meteorite Car and it's travels around the world. We'd like to invite you to have a look, and to wish Peekskill a happy birthday! http://www.nyrockman.com/peekskill.htm Sincerely, Iris Lang www.nyrockman.com www.langsfossils.com ______________________________________________ Meteorite-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list
