Sunday, Febuary 15, 1903 Page: 5 Meteor Startles Inhabitants of Utah Town Special to The Journal BINGHAM, Utah, Feb. 14 - A mammoth meteor struck the earth near here at 4:45 this morning. The falling body when it struck the earth caused windows to rattle and houses to tremble, while a sound like a mightly clap of thunder awakened the inhaditants. The meteor plunged into the mountains southwest of this place, and the shock was felt by persons living miles away. |
