Thanks Eric for the very succinct explanation.  It puts to bed
pretty much every issue about this amazing stone:

1.  The mass was 1015 g, minus very small chips that could not
have totalled anywhere near 250 grams.  The 1278 g figure is
erroneous.  At best it is the weight of some other totally
unrelated Moroccan meteorite.

2.  Mike purchased NWA 482 in Morocco on behalf of many investors.

3.  The Hupes provided the largest fractional share of investment
capital, and thus received the main mass -- roughly 30% of the
meteorite.
