G'day List,
I've just come from watching the Solar Eclipse over
Australia. It was truly an awe-inspiring and humbling event. It
looked like it was going to be blocked out at first, but the clouds parted
and disappeared in time to watch. While it did not reach Totality over
Melbourne, I was able to see about 80% of the Sun covered. Just 20 minutes after
the peak I was then able to watch the partially eclipsed Sun set over
Melbourne's famous St. Kilda beach. Awesome! I hope others on this list were
also able to see some of the eclipse and look forward to hearing some
more reports.
