Dear List,
We discard our HNO3 (used for preserving metals in water samples) when we switch labs for quality assurance purposes. Turns out that we switched labs right after receiving 2 new 2.5 liter jugs of tracemetals grade 68-71% nitric. I just couldn't stand seeing them go to waste especially when I might have a iron or two to etch someday. I've held on to them for a few months and haven't yet needed any, so I am offering them to anybody who can put it to good use (although most have switched to other acids for etching). I live in North Florida and would gladly hand them off to any IMCA member driving through. The price for mailing hazmat is most likely too high. Please contact me off list to make arrangements.
