G'day Geoff, Ron & List,

As I was reading Ron's post I saw vision on television of the Observatory
absolutely destroyed. A sad day. As I write; the current damage stands at
402 homes, 4 people killed and hundreds injured. There has been enormous
damage to a lot of property in Canberra and there is still significant risk
to remaining property throughout the region. Nothing is safe at the moment
and the next 24 hours will be extremely hazardous. Visibility in Melbourne
today was down to 100 metres because of smoke from up to hundreds of
kilometres away. It's not good at the moment to say the least!
