Ice Crashes Through Roof Of House FAA Says It Could Be Blue Ice Associated Press January 21, 2003 SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- It might have seemed like the sky was falling. A large chunk of ice fell through the roof of a house in Santa Cruz, Calif. It didn't hit anyone, but it tore a hole about a foot and a-half wide in the roof. It fell just a few feet away from where a mother and her daughter were sitting. There was no word on where the ice came from, but an FAA spokesman told an area TV station that it could be what's called blue ice.
