Dear List Members,
One final note on this contest. It has come
to my attention in a few emails by other List members that Martin Horejsi listed
all three as eucrites. He is the only entrant who named all three as
eucrites. The other winning entry was picked because a correct
subclassification was picked for number three first. No correct
subclassification was picked for number one so the closest guesses were drawn
from a hat.
Martin deserves acknowledgment for his keen
observation skills. I believe he must have developed these skills by
examining and photographing thousands of meteorites. Overall he was the
closest to getting all three correct. Since subclassifications were
submitted by several entrants we thought that it would be fair to use these in
the final determination of winners. We will have another contest soon
and hope it is a little bit less confusing than this one.
Wishing everybody the best,
Adam and Greg Hupe
