Well said Richard. We actually turn down more TV requests than we accept these days.

I've never allowed a crew to come to my house, even though I've had several request it, but then again my appearances are always work related.

I'm not saying no one should do this. Just be careful, ask a lot of questions about how they plan on presenting you and your collection and if you feel uncomfortable in any way, from what they ask you to do or show to how they speak to you and your family, thank them and show the crew the door. They need you much more than you need them, so be sure you are treated with appropriately.
