There is an apparent weathering zone on this piece indicating some water intrusion and probably some leaching . It overlaps the supposed "metal flakes" without changing them. I think these flakes-- in absence of proof otherwise are mica flakes.
I am not ready to rule this out or in but the matrix is on the hole very unmeteorite looking.
