Thanks to everyone helping my planning! ...all while new martian meteorite
news in real time is emerging...
Despite breaking news!!! Your advice enhances anticipation for an inaugual
Tucson visit....
I'll be the guy introducing myself as Richard Montgomery on our List (its my
name); or Rick-Bob in the music world (and on FB;) ... or "goldierocks"
on eBay... but mostly as the guy with the same stars in my eyes as yours.
Thanks,
Richard Montgomery

Richard,
I stayed in Marana last year at the Motel 6 that Ruben mentioned on Ina
Road. The prices did not increase for the show and it was an "ok" Motel
6.
It's a 10 mile easy freeway drive to the show and not much of a problem at
all.
I am staying there again this year. I booked months ago but if I remember
right it was under $70/night and they do accept AARP cards for discounts.
Mike's description of the prices was spot on. A room worth $70/night or
less gets about $180 to $250 per night for the show closer to town. Way
out of my price range.
I'll be there the weekend of the bash and auction doing some filming with
Ruben. I'll also be running around during the show filming and if anyone
want to be filmed or show your rooms to the world, I need to kinda get an
idea. This will be on MTV (Meteorite TV) at some point during the show
(at least that's the plan right now!) There maybe two streaming feeds
this year, but Ruben and I will work that all out and come up with a
schedule of sorts,,,,,should be fun!
Cheers
Jim

Hello list!
I enjoy the banter betweeen everyone! Ruben vs. Anne...should become a
TV show! ...as well as Capt. Blood's stellar work for the upcoming
auction, I need some advice from anyone who will chime in:
It'll be my first-time Tucson visit. I'll be driving from Davis, CA.;
hopefully arriving the last week of January and staying at least until
SkyBar and the auction...(fortunately I have a pick-up)...and I need some
advice for accommodations. While I'm up for camping, I do enjoy a nice
clean-up and would rather plan for a comfortable / affordable room with
no special ammenities, SAVING my money FOR METEORITES !!! So, who can
steer me in a good direction?
Where-o-where? Should I make a reservation (duh!) and is it too late to
secure something worthy (thinking Super 8 kinda place)...
(I knew that would invite some advice!)
Please chime in!
Sincerely,
Richard Montgomery
