Hello Jason, List,
I think Jason has the best, most likely theory yet.
Looking at those images solved another geo mystery for me. Last year I
found a "ribbon bomb" I had no idea how it was made until now, reading
through some literature on volcanic bombs.
Thanks for the link!
Sincerely,

Hello Larry, All,
It looks like a volcanic bomb. Larry noted that it was found amongst
other volcanic rocks, and the outside does appear to exhibit "flow
lines" - I'd bet on its being volcanic. If it is one, it's one of the
better examples I've seen from the southwest.

A number of look-alikes visible in the above link.
Regards,
Jason

Hi Mike, List,
I'd like to see inside but but I've not yet windowed it. I'm
in no
hurry to damage it, just in case it's special. I can say
that in hand
you can see there are small chondrule like features and
chunks of
darker rock. There are also some dark, metallic looking
things. The
pictures do it no justice. The thing that cast's doubt in my
mind is
the fact that there is no attraction whatsoever to the super
magnet.
It's probably petrified fruit or a dino egg, or a
concretion, or any
one of the other things people have suggested. The odds of
it being a
rare meteorite are infinitely small, this I'm well aware
of.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Larry Atkins

Wow, Paul has a valid point. That is definitely not a
meteorite, but
it could be something very interesting nonetheless. :)
Are you going to window it?
