Mr Deiro, I have restrained from responding to this thread until now. Your comments on this subject are deplorable and far more egregiously derogatory to Ann Hodges than any others.
Besides the physical scars, the event left emotional scars and a breakup of Ann Hodges' marriage. Hodges ended up donating the meteorite to the Alabama museum and did not profit, but rather suffered from the continued media attention, curiosity seekers and dashed hopes about the initial financial potential - I don't know what you are referring to regarding your statement of her having "cashed the checks for 58 years." Furthermore, the photograph of Hodges with the scar while in the hospital were not released by her - implying that she "hiked her dress up for the world to see" is insulting. This is NOT about Political Correctness. Its about human decency and respect.
