Hallo Martin, Listees;

The offering of food in the video shows the extent of the hospitality of the Bavarians. Anyone aboard the meteoroid could feast after their long voyage ;-), what self-respecting meteoroid wouldn't touch down for a feast at a magically enchanting castle.

That promotional poster looks like a fairytale - oh wait, It is! Unfortunately the closest some of us can get to Neuschwanstein is the castle in Disneyland (a cheap copy based on it) or in my case not even Disney World (ditto).

Would it be possible for anyone lucky to visit this fantastic event to submit a picture of the NEUSCHWANSTEIN meteorite display to the Tucson Meteorites MPOD for those of us stuck with a long-distance love affair with the fairytale? Really that would be great for someone, somehow to share a personal virtual visit, of just a picture. Who knows if a family portrait will be possible again after the rocks are returned to their owners...

Kindesy wishes
Doug

Celebrate ten 'earth years' of NEUSCHWANSTEIN , right now! ;-)

Until the 23rd September there will be a special exhibition in the
Rieskrater-Museum in the famous Noerdlinger Ries
to commemorate the fall of the Neuschwanstein meteorite
on the 6th April 2002 , 22:20:18 CET (right now, exactly 10 years ago).

It is the first time that the three masses of the Neuschwanstein meteorite will
be shown together.

If you have the chance to go there, you should do so.
It is strongly recommended!

The best video of any meteorite fall in history (an 'animal surveillance video'
with a bait!). It has even recorded the sonic boom of the meteor!
