Hi Rob, all, If the chief reason for using a blimp is to get the current information on the ground cover, I think it would have been more effective to get current air photos from a fixed wing aircraft set up for that type of air survey, unless they need real time data. Of course, they could also be looking for small black specks on house roofs ;-)
Historically, most of the rain should be passed for a while, but the morning dew was pretty severe every morning the few days I was there after the rain. Time is their enemy in terms of terrestrialization/rain, so I know Peter wants to recover as much material as possible before it rains any more than it already has. If the rumors of marijuana growing in the area are true, I don't know that I'd want to be flying too low! These airships get bullet holes in them all the time (which is a sad statement about humanity), so it wouldn't surprise me if a few new holes get added over the next couple days. --Rob -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Chris Spratt Sent: Thursday, May 03, 2012 3:43 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Meteorite main mass hunting with a blimp Also a good way to spot grow-ops.
