Hi Greg,

AFAIK, nobody "owns" the moon, and certainly NASA cannot lay claim to what someone else brings back from there, nor can any government. So they would be free to sell whatever they recover from the moon.

It will be interesting to see what price the market will bear, if and when they are successful in this venture.

I was listing to Science Friday on NPR and the were discussing the launch scheduled for this Saturday headed by SpaceX, and a question came up about going to the moon. Well if they did (and they are a private company), could they legally return with moon rocks and sell them on the open market?
